Could there be a better energy, waste or resource opportunity for your business?

What does a first-look bioenergy assessment tell me?

This free first-look check helps Australian businesses explore organic resources, existing biogas plants and renewable product needs. Choose your role, goals, barriers, state and postcode to see a private starting point, possible pathways and missing evidence. Save your opportunity or submit a separate public description for Admin review; neither establishes feasibility or availability.

Explore my opportunity

Start with the problem, not a technology

A farm may have residues to manage, an operating plant may have an upgrade question, and an industrial buyer may need gas, heat or a co-product. The first look organises your goals and evidence gaps before equipment is selected. Sydney, regional NSW and other Australian locations need their own resource, demand and delivery evidence.

Save privately or submit to publish

Signed-in users can save opportunities in their Bioenergy account and continue building a brief. Supply, demand, energy, product and co-product descriptions can be submitted with explicit publication consent. Admin reviews the description and company attribution and may request revisions before publication in the Australian Explorer. Saving never publishes private answers, addresses or calculator outputs.

Request a project assessment or quote

Assessment and quote requests use the private enquiry journey rather than becoming public listings. Add measured quantities and operating details in the Project Scoping Brief when available. Unknown inputs stay unknown, and commercial conclusions need site evidence and qualified review.

Explore related records without assuming a match

The Explorer scan uses your state, documented pathways and selected product to filter public records and approved signals. Same-postcode member signals appear first. Proximity does not prove available supply, delivery, customer demand or a viable project; no automated matching or model-generated recommendations are provided.

Questions about the opportunity check

What do I get before signing up?

After four short steps you see a first-look result: your starting point, possible pathways and missing information. State and postcode are required; address is optional. The result is based on your answers, not a feasibility, price or viability assessment.

Who is this for?

Australian farms and organic resource owners, existing biogas plant operators, industrial buyers of gas, CO₂ or hydrogen, developers, investors and overseas technology providers looking at Australian opportunities across NSW and other states.

Which revenue pathways does it consider?

It looks across electricity and heat, biomethane for the gas network or industry, biogenic CO₂, renewable hydrogen pathways, and digestate or fertiliser co-products. It does not favour one pathway; it shows which ones your answers point towards and what you would need to confirm.

What happens if I save my opportunity?

You can create a Bioenergy account with six months of complimentary Founding Member access. Your answers carry across, you can add detail at your own pace, and you can ask Shelby to review your opportunity. No payment details are needed. Saving does not publish anything.

Can I publish supply, demand or a project opportunity?

Yes. Choose Submit to Publish and provide a separate public description with explicit consent and company attribution from your profile. Admin can edit, request revisions, approve or decline it. Only approved, consented listings appear publicly in the Explorer. Private discovery answers and addresses are not copied into the listing.

Do I need plant data or feedstock numbers?

No. The first check uses plain-language choices. If you already know tonnes, biogas volumes or contract details, the Project Scoping Brief lets you add them afterwards, and unknown values are kept as unknown rather than guessed.

Are my answers shared with anyone?

First-look answers are not public. Saving keeps them in your private account; requesting a review shares the submitted brief with authorised Shelby reviewers. Publishing requires a separate consented description and Admin approval. Assessment and quote requests stay private and do not become public listings.
