Explore project economics and support scenarios.

Compare saleable output, scoped costs and revenue on a transparent project boundary. Keep grants, production support and co-product returns separate, with source and confidence labels for each input. Shelby consultation response, Biomethane production costs and cost drivers (company position) Site-specific haulage, customer delivery and connection costs must be included before comparing configurations or interpreting an indicative margin.

Compare the alternatives

Model an operating baseline and upgrade, or new-plant configurations. Specify utilisation, electricity, delivery, replacement costs and customer prices on consistent energy and currency bases.

Read the result

Show operating contribution and break-even requirements separately from full cash-flow returns. Include downside cases for delays, low output and uncontracted income. Results remain editable scenario analysis.

What the tool cannot tell you

A screening model cannot confirm engineering feasibility, approvals, contract terms or financing. It helps compare options consistently and shows where the case is sensitive. Treat results as prompts for further investigation, and have qualified engineers, planners and financial advisers review any project before commitments are made.

Prepare inputs before using the explorer

Bring a documented baseline, installed cost boundary, full-utilisation output, expected utilisation, operating costs and separately evidenced revenue lines. Enter explicit zero only where a cost or revenue genuinely does not apply. Label grants and production support as awarded or hypothetical. Save supplier quotations and source dates outside the tool so another reviewer can reproduce and challenge the scenario.

Do not derate measured output twice

Annual capacity requires a utilisation assumption; measured annual delivered output already reflects its operating year and is not multiplied by availability again. Keep an unsupported base case separate from awarded and hypothetical support, then test explicit output loss and co-product failure. Discounted outputs here are constant-annual pre-tax screens, not a full project finance model. Supplier quotations, retained baseline revenue, construction timing, replacement costs and working capital must be scoped before investment decisions.

Frequently asked questions

Does a positive model output confirm finance is available?

No. Financing depends on qualified due diligence, contracts, risks and lender requirements.

Why does the tool show 'not calculated' for some results?

Results only appear when every required input is entered with a declared basis. Missing financial inputs leave the result incomplete rather than filled with assumptions, so the output always reflects your own figures.

Can I compare a stress case?

Yes. The stress case reduces output by a percentage you choose and removes co-product income, so you can see how sensitive the incremental contribution is to lower performance.
