Child Safety & Privacy

Understand the child-safety, privacy and data-minimisation boundaries guiding Shelby’s Australian school wellbeing platform. Get practical next steps.

Shelby Wellbeing is designed for school-level implementation planning, not identifiable student assessment. Users should not submit student names, diagnoses or case notes. School demand is private by default, provider information is progressively disclosed, and official school safeguarding, privacy and emergency procedures always take precedence.

Data minimisation

The Gap Finder asks about broad priorities, cohorts, delivery preferences and implementation constraints. It does not need identifiable student wellbeing information.

Keep formal pathways in place

Shelby does not replace mandatory reporting, school safeguarding, complaints, clinical care or emergency response. Organisations remain responsible for their legal and policy obligations.

Frequently asked questions

Can student names be entered?

No. Do not enter names or other identifiable student wellbeing information into Shelby’s planning or enquiry forms.

Does Shelby conduct Working with Children Checks?

Provider or practitioner readiness information may record stated documentation, but each engaging organisation must complete its own required verification and due diligence.

What if I have an urgent child-safety concern?

Use the school’s safeguarding and emergency procedures and contact the appropriate authority or emergency service. Shelby is not a reporting or crisis channel.
